Summer visits to "Beatrice Glow: Spice Roots/Routes" extended through end of summer!
Since the "Empire of Smoke: the Legacy of Tobacco" event held on May 11, this summer, I've been bringing small groups to the Duke House NYU Institute of Fine Arts to view my show "Spice Roots/Routes" paired with aromas and previews of Rhunhattan VR (work in progress). These salon nights have been filled with wonderful, nurturing and provocative conversations on the social history of plants.
I'm also thrilled that the show has been extended till at least the end of summer. It opened on March 22, 2017.
Curator Sasha Dees wrote this feature on Dutch art blog trendbeheer.com. Rhunhattan was also featured in writer Ian Burnet's Spice Island Blog. Both articles further contextualize spice trade and colonial commerce in the advent of globalization. I'm very thankful to the ever expanding conversations and stories we are building on top of!
